Jesse was born on a small town farm Had a kind heart never meant no harm Did his job the way he was told Don't think too hard, kid, you're only burning coal And all of his questions only got in the way Of the work he was doing and how he got paid So he kept his mouth shut, tried hard not to sin Scared to death of hell, thought he'd never win. Allie came from Puget Sound A young hippie chick, who was college bound When her daddy wouldn't pay for a trip around the world She posed naked on a site called "Girls on Girls" The money only got her as far as Belize Where a man whose legs, chopped at his knees Said you only blessed to have all you need And that would stick with her, so what is greed. You seem so far away But it's not true Love, you're not alone We are one body and the world is you. Bob's up on the East Coast Money's what he does the most Does what he can, for his own Wife, three kids, and mom's home loan What he wants is good and pure Never thought he was working for The suffer of a brother in another land A whole world apart You seem so far away But it's not true Love, you're not alone We are one body and the world is you. Tiva is a shaman Been making a call To those who would listen Or care at all It all started with a dream When she was seventeen She said, there's no distance between you and me Despite what you may see. Jesse couldn't get to work the next day Cause a young hippie chick was standing in his way And right next to her were a thousand more Sending a real strong message, shore to shore Where Bob would lose more money in just one go Than Tiva or Jesse could ever know Who knew the press from just one protest Could shut the plant down and bring justice. Jesse's out of work Allie's got no place to be Bob's wondering where his money went And Tiva's still got her dream Well, it's all been done and the question stands Who's future is in whose hands Who will rise up, will stand down Who will save the world, or let it burn to the ground You seem so far away But it's not true Love you're not alone We are one body and the world is you.

I remember that fateful night, with so much love and so much light When we conceived our baby girl, and dreamed about a whole new world Now three years passed, we barely talk, you say nothing lasts you don't even know If you love me anymore You're giving up, just like your father We can work it out, if we try harder If you're here be here, make the best of the situation Times is rough, we both have so much frustration If you're here be here Every night it's the same old song, you walk around like nothing's wrong I try to cut a path to you, but the air's so thick I can't break through You tell me how you can hardly breathe, when I touch your hand I just can't believe How you pull away from me, like a stranger would Don't pass the blame, just like your mother Cause you're not her, and I'm not you're father If you're here be here, make the best of the situation Times is rough, we both have so much frustation If you're here be here

Poor rich kid, with stains up and down his shirt He ain't got no change of clothes And he don't care so much about no CNN, no NPR, no news station Or political show He bite the dog, when he wake up Cause his day filled with nothing to do Take a walk on down to find the man That will give him the fix that will see him through Hey man, it ain't that bad You know it ain't that bad I got a new suit for you, when you're ready friend You know you can stand up Any time you want Try this on, see how it fits you, to live again In the morning, poor rich kid's family calls To see if everything's ok Landlord barges in, looking for the rent Only finds a stack of bills unpaid Nobody knows where you went, nobody knows how your spent Every cent that was put in your name You're on some southbound bus, gone and widowed all the rest of us But didn't pack no change of clothes Hey man, it ain't that bad You know it really ain't that bad Got a new suit for you, when you're ready friend You know you can stand up Anytime you want Try this on see how it fits you You say this weight is too much to bear And there's no love out there for you But if you, throw off those rags you always wear You'll see there's more love, than you ever really knew. Hey man, it ain't that bad You know it ain't that bad I got a new suit for you, when you're ready friend You know you can stand up, anytime you want Try this on, see how it fits you, to live again And it don't matter where you come from Don't matter who you are Don't matter about your income Or if you drive a big fat car Don't matter about your skin Or the clothes you're right now in All you need is a change of clothes.

I heard that you were on your own Saturday night and you got so stoned But you don't feel high you feel alone Ate all the sweets your mama left for you Try to read a book but that's not what you really want to do Try to shake away these lonely blues Shake 'em up, yeah So what you're looking for It's something Take all that built up pain, and turn it around What you're looking for It's something You can't find by yourself. Got more than one voice in your head You make up your mind, and then you don't instead The name of this game is called unrest, yes Searching the time for a release So the pain on your insides can finally cease So you're burning desires can find a place to breathe Let 'em breathe, yeah So, what you're looking for It's something Take all that built up pain, and turn it around Said, what you're looking for It's something You can't find by yourself Yeah, what you're looking for It's something beautiful What you're searching for Is something true Take all that built up pain And just turn it around What you're looking for It's something You can't find by yourself Now what you're looking for It's something You can't find it by yourself Now what you want to do Is walk over to your front door And I don't mean your back door I don't mean your window And with an open heart And an open mind Walk over to the first person you see Walk over to the first person you see Gotta say hello Say hello To the beautiful people We're all beautiful people With so much to say And all I got to say is Hey, hey, hey We're all wonderful people With so much to give And all I want to say is Live! Live! Live! It's Something You can't find it by yourself.

So you say you don't like to dance Still trying to get in her pants Say you ain't much for the bump and grind I got one thing that might change your mind Well, there's twenty guys here that are better than you But she ain't gonna know it unless you let her slip through your fingers Ain't no time left to let it linger She ain't gonna wait all night For you to find the moment that's right You take your last shot of prozzac Hoping it will bring the feelings back Sit your ass in front of the TV And wonder why you feeling so empty If you please step up and take a crack at this riddle Cause you know it wouldn't hurt you if you tried to move a little And just feel good And seize the day just like you know you should You better start to put up a fight Cause your life won't wait for the moment that's right Now you're feeling like you've done it all And this city's getting kinda small You try to find a way to ease the doubt There's only one way to find out So you say you wanna move but what you got to leave behind Is holding you back so you ask me how much time that You should allow There's never been a better time than now You can wait for it as long as you like But there's no such thing as the moment that's right

about

In 2010, Melodeego started to earn a name for itself in the grassroots environmental justice movement.
